A universal faucet is required for connection.  
A standard universal faucet adaptor is included for all male threaded faucets. If you own a tap with a female thread, the filter will attach directly without the adaptor. Installation is non-permanent and does not require drilling or any plumbing.

Membrane Care Instructions 

When the stream of water becomes noticeably weaker from the spout of your filter, the membrane requires cleaning. 

Your porcelain membrane is extremely delicate, carefully remove from the housing by rotating anti clockwise, gently scrub under cool water with a natural bristle brush, revealing a clean surface to use once again. 

Never use chemicals on your membrane. 

Membranes should not be scrubbed more than 5 times. 

Membranes should be replaced annually.

Is the filter easy to install?

The Hydranation water filter offers one of the simplest installations available. 

Begin by removing the aerator from your kitchen or laundry faucet. If your faucet has male (external) threading, 
the filter can be attached directly. 

For faucets with female (internal) threading, please use the included adapter to securely connect the diverter valve.

What makes the Hydranation water filter unique?

Hydranation is almost the only countertop, pressure-fed system that delivers water with an exceptionally high level of purification—comparable to reverse osmosis filters but generating significantly less water waste. 
It's sleek and compact design requires no plumbing or permanent installation, 
making it an ideal and portable solution for renters.

How does the filter work?

The Hydranation membrane is composed of three advanced filtration layers. The outermost layer is a microporous ceramic shell, designed to physically filter out sediments and contaminants.
 

Beneath this, a blend of activated charcoal and calcium hydroxyapatite works to adsorb fluoride and other impurities. Calcium hydroxyapatite—a naturally occurring mineral often used as a dietary supplement—provides a safer and more effective alternative to commonly used filtration media such as activated alumina.
 

This material offers faster contact time and a higher adsorption capacity, all while releasing no harmful substances into your water. It ensures a cleaner, more mineral-rich hydration experience—naturally.

How often do I need to replace the filter membrane?

The membrane is to be replaced annually. 
We recommend no more than 5 scrubs. 

Each time the membrane is cleaned it removes a fine layer of the ceramic shell which will affect the capture of larger particulates. Replacement is easy and membranes can be purchased on our store page 

How do I clean my filter membrane?

A noticeable reduction in water pressure from your spout typically indicates that your filter requires cleaning.

Please handle the membrane with care—it is delicate and should be treated gently, much like fine china. 

To clean, rinse it under cool to room temperature water and use a natural bristle brush to lightly scrub the surface.
 

Do not use hot water, any detergents or cleaning agents, as these will damage the membrane.

We recommend a maximum of five gentle cleans per membrane before replacement is necessary to maintain 
optimal performance.

How do I know if the filter will fit my tap?

Most standard kitchen taps in Australia have an aerator about the size of a $1 coin (22mm). 
If yours looks around that size, our filter will likely fit. 
A universal adaptor is included for both internal (female) and external (male) thread types. 

Please note; 'pull out', square, rectangular or oval taps will not be suitable for this product- always check the laundry tap suitability.

What if I receive my filter and it doesn't fit?

In rare cases, some imported or non-standard faucets may have smaller spouts that do not meet universal plumbing specifications. We recommend first trying the included adaptors provided with your Hydranation filter.
 

If your kitchen faucet is not compatible, we suggest checking your laundry tap as an alternative installation point.
